
Lydia Harper
Lydia Harper is a director, circus artist and physical theatre performer.
From a young age Lydia started performing; she started her acting and circus training at the Mill Arts Centre and Playbox Theatre Company. Performing regularly including at the Edinburgh Fringe and touring to Santa Monica Playhouse in LA.
Lydia trained at the National Centre for Circus Arts and it is there she started her specialisations; Double Cloud and Chinese Pole.
Lydia is a founding member of the company Silver Lining, whose success included tours to Holland and premiering their second show 'Throwback'. Lydia was the company manager and associate director during her time with Silver Lining.
As a performer Lydia has worked throughout the UK with companies including Cirque Bijou, Metta Theatre, Tangled Feet, Chivaree Circus, Trends Entertainment and Circulus and she was one of the original company members of the UK’s first integrated circus Extraordinary Bodies.
In 2015 Lydia joined the creation of Cirque Du Soleil's Toruk The First Flight, which she saw through to closing June 2019. During this time Lydia worked as acrobatic captain of 2 acts and Artist Coach of choreography, blocking and Movement.
Lydia debuted her show FATcrobat at Resolutions festival in 2020. FATcrobat is her solo directing debut and explores beauty standards through the world of circus.
Currently Lydia is studying a Masters in theatre directing at East 15 Drama School.
