From a young age Lydia started performing; she started her training at the Mill Arts Centre and with a Playbox Theatre Company. This is where she also began to train as an aerialist. During this time she performed frequently and toured to various youth theatre festivals, the Edinburgh Fringe and to the Santa Monica Playhouse in LA. At Playbox she was frequently acting Dance Captain and assisted with choreography, whilst at the Mill Arts Centre she became assistant AD.
Lydia trained at the National Centre for Circus Arts and it is there she started her specialisations; Double Cloud and Chinese Pole. During group productions (most notably her second year ensemble) Lydia was Dance Captain / helped choreograph the shows.
Lydia is a founding member of the company Silver Lining, whose success included tours to Holland and premiering their second show 'Throwback'. Lydia was the company manager and associate director during her time with Silver Lining.
Since graduating Lydia has worked throughout the UK with companies including Cirque Bijou, Metta Theatre, Tangled Feet, Chivaree Circus, Trends Entertainment and Circulus and she was one of the original company members of the UK’s first integrated circus Extraordinary Bodies.
In 2015 Lydia joined the creation of Cirque Du Soleil's Toruk The First Flight, which she saw through to closing June 2019. During this time Lydia worked as acrobatic captain of 2 acts and Artist Coach of choreography, blocking and Na’Vi movement.
Lydia just debuted her show FATcrobat at Resolutions festival. FATcrobat is her solo directing debut and explores beauty standards through the world of circus.
